Marketer of One
[ 00 / Marketer of One ]

The more you hire, the less you keep.

In 2025, digital agencies with fewer than 10 full-time staff averaged 19 cents of after-tax profit on every dollar. Those with 50 or more averaged 8 cents.

[ 01 / Payroll ]

Every new client means another hire.

In a standard agency benchmark, about 55% of every dollar billed goes to the cost of doing the work, almost all of it salaries. Margins tend to fall as agencies grow.

[ 02 / The bottleneck ]

And it all still runs through you.

Every pitch, every brief and every final call waits for you. The agency moves only as fast as you do.

[ 03 / Turnover ]

The people you train walk out with it.

Average turnover at digital agencies was 19% in 2025, about one in five. Replacing a person can cost from half to twice their salary.

[ 04 / The price of hours ]

Your clients know what AI costs.

39% of agency leaders say clients already expect lower prices because of AI. If you bill by the hour, every hour AI saves comes straight off your invoice.

[ 05 / The asset ]

Clients can buy the tools. Not your judgment.

Clients pay for your taste, your judgment and your standards. Until now, there was no way to make more of them.

[ 06 / Agents ]

Now your craft can be taught to agents.

We train AI agents on your own way of working. They learn from your edits, they never walk out, and they get better every month.

[ 07 / Your call ]

Only the final call runs through you.

Agents do the research, the drafts, the reports and the client updates. Nothing reaches a client until you or your best people approve it.

[ 08 / Scale ]

A team the size of each project.

Run three agents on a small job and thirty on a launch. Nobody sits on salary waiting for the next one.

[ 09 / Clients ]

One marketer. Twenty clients.

Marketer of One is built so one person can run 15 to 20 custom clients at a time, each to your standard. The number depends on how repeatable your work is.

[ 10 / Allies ]

Hire allies, not payroll.

When you add people, add only the best. Your team keeps the work that needs a person, and the agents carry the volume.

[ 11 / Margin ]

Grow the profit, not the headcount.

In 2025, digital agencies with fewer than 10 full-time staff averaged more than twice the after-tax margin of those with 50 or more. Now you can stay small and still grow.

[ 12 / R&D ]

Every new model, tested for your ROI.

We have built with AI since ChatGPT launched in 2022, and more than half of our revenue goes back into R&D. When a new model can lift your ROI, it is in your system within a week.

[ 13 / The numbers ]

The numbers behind it.

  1. In 2025, the average digital agency earned a 13% after-tax net margin. Agencies with 50 or more full-time employees averaged 8%, and studios with fewer than 10 averaged 19%.

[ 14 / The storm ]

Now you are the storm.

The agency no longer waits on you. Never again be afraid of the AI revolution, because now you are the revolution.

[ Questions ]

What is Marketer of One?
Marketer of One (marketerofone.com) is a Utlyze site for marketing agency owners who want to grow their profit without growing their headcount. It shows how to run an agency AI-first: your craft is trained into AI agents that do the volume, and you keep the judgment.
Who is it for?
Owners of marketing agencies and consultancies, from solo operators to about 50 people. It fits owners who want higher margins, more clients and more freedom, and who would rather work with a few strong allies than manage a large staff.
Why do agency margins shrink as the agency grows?
Promethean Research finds that profitability tends to fall as agencies get larger, because growth adds management, support and other overhead. In 2025, digital agencies with 50 or more full-time employees averaged 8% of revenue as after-tax profit, while studios with fewer than 10 averaged 19%.
Will AI make my work generic?
No, as long as it is trained on your work. The agents learn from your briefs, your past work and your edits, and you or your best people review what goes to clients. A controlled study found AI raises speed and quality on tasks inside its reach and makes more mistakes outside it. That is why your judgment stays in the loop.
How many clients can one person run?
Marketer of One is built so one person can run 15 to 20 custom clients at a time. The real number depends on your services, how repeatable the work is and how well the agents are trained, so we plan it with you account by account.
What happens to my team?
That is your call, and nothing here requires you to let anyone go. The agents take the repeatable work, so the people you already have can spend their time on work that needs a person. When you do hire, you can hire for talent instead of hours.
Does this help me win clients?
The work starts with delivery, because that is where margin leaks. Once agents carry the repeatable work, you get your selling time back.
How will I know it is working?
Each piece of work moves to agents with a measure taken before it moved, a person who reviews it, and a trigger that sends it back if quality drops. Nothing you cannot undo goes out without a person approving it.
My clients want an AI discount. What do I do?
Stop pricing by the hour. When agents do the volume, you can price the result the client gets. 39% of agency leaders already see clients expecting lower prices because of AI (SoDA, Q4 2025), so the pricing talk is coming either way.
Why Utlyze?
We have built with AI since ChatGPT launched in November 2022. More than half of our revenue goes back into research and development each month. When a new release can lift a client’s ROI, we put it into their system within a week.
How is this different from an AI course or an AI tool?
A course teaches you tools, and a tool gives you a general assistant. We build your own system around your craft and your clients, measure it against your numbers, and keep it current as the models change.
Do I keep what we build if I leave?
Yes. If you ever end your contract, we transfer all of the infrastructure we built for you, agents included, to you to run and maintain. Our goal is to build people who can build themselves.
Which one is for me?
Consult fits owners who want to learn to run it themselves, five hours at a time. Build fits agencies where $15,000 a month is clearly less than the margin at stake.
Is Build worth it at $15,000 a month?
Only if the margin it recovers is clearly larger than the fee. We work that out with you before you sign, starting from your own numbers: revenue, payroll and margin by client.
What do Consult and Build cost?
Consult: $400 an hour, with a 5-hour minimum ($2,000 at the least). Build: from $15,000 a month for a dedicated team that builds with you and stays on call around the clock.
Is this financial, legal or tax advice?
No. Anything here about money, pricing, employment or law is general education. It does not replace advice from professionals who know your agency.
How do I get started?
Use the form at the bottom of this page. Pick Consult to book hours with us, or Build to ask about a dedicated team.
